we have two servers: a development and live.
on my development server if i got to the DSE interface and ping db using
nlwnsck it suceeds.
but if i do this on the live server it fails... I am trying to use jrun to
show some DB information.
and i think jrun cant connect because the ports not answering.
(it loads nlwnsck.dll fine)

any ideas for activating this anyone? thanks

Post the SQL.INI files from both servers and we'll take a look at them.

Hmm, you've got me. They look normal. Is "eib-fistral" the machine name or the database
server name or both? I still think you should try using the IP address just to check it
out.
