I have a Visual C++ app which is using the MFC ODBC classes to access a
table. The table is opened as snapshot (which is "A static recordset with
bi-directional scrolling"). I have configured a user DSN with the ODBC
Aministrator to connect to the Sybase server.

The connection to the database works, but when the opening of the recordset
fails because the call to
SQLGetInfo with the SQL_SCROLL_OPTIONS parameter returns that the Sybase
driver supports only forward only cursor.

Is there any way around this ?

Hi Paul,

Bi-directional cursors are not supported by the ODBC specs that Microsoft has
put out or by the ANSI SQL 92 standard . This would be an extension to the
ODBC spec & SQL 92 standard.

If you want such a feature, please call 1-800-8SYBASE and ask for a 'feature
request'.

thanks

Jason
