Hi there:
I just ran that Isql applet successfully. Since I used
http://127.0.0.1:8000 to run the example applet, I actually used httpd(Java
web server) to handle both html pages and JDBC proxy.
I am trying to let my IIS handle html pages and let httpd Java web
server handle only JBC connection because my application will have two to
three handred people access to it. I may have couple ten people access web
server at the same time. I do not think we put httpd server up is intend to
handle html pages.
What class files need to be copy to IIS? How to arrang those class file?
Do I need to modify the example applet? What else needs to be done?

Thanks a lot

The Caccade HTTPD-JDBC gateway MUST be on the same host as the applet
itself. The Java security model will only allow the applet to connect
to the host who served it. This is the whole reason for the gateway.

I plan to put Caccade HTTP gateway and applet source code on the same host,
but diferent port. This ideal is from jConnect white paper - three tier
modle.

I guess I can move the isql example to my IIS and modify its proxy port to
Caccade HTTP gateway.
I will follow the jConnect deployment to arrange those depend class files.

Am I on the right track?

See:

for how to install with MS webservers and the same logic can be
use for other web servers

I followed the instruction. It works well.
Since we manually add the Virtual directory, it is invisible to Frontpage
extension.
I simply copy %JDBC_HOME%\classes and %JDBC_HOME%\devclasses to my IIS, and
follow the orginal directory struct.
Change codebase of isql.html to new virtual dir under IIS.
It works.
