You have to register the provider in the emulator environment. Run regsvrce
in the emulator (it is in the emulator windows directory) to register
dboledb8.dll

You should copy the dboledb8.dll from the asa80\ce\emulator.30 directory,
not the x86.30 directory.

the thing is the file dboledb8.dll is not at all displayed in the emulator
file explorer. but if i see the files thru the
File Viewer . it shows all the files.
in microsoft site the Loadlibrary Error 7e occurs if the file we are
registering is not found in the current directory.
but i tried giving the full path of the dll.
still no use.
is ASA Adaptive server Anywhere 8.0.2 is working in
a Emulator.???

Yes, it is working, I use it all the time, and I tried it again just now to
be sure. I also do not see the file listed in the emulator explorer either,
so that is normal as well.
Be sure to enter the path relative to the device emulator, not the machine.
You should be registering \windows\dboledb8.dll, and not
\CEToolkit\wce300\MS Pocket PC\emulation\palm300\windows

You'll probably need to contact Technical Support to get this issue
resolved. Within North America, you can reach Technical Support
by calling 1-800-8SYBASE. If you are located outside of North
America, you can find the contact information for your local Sybase
Support Center by going to the Sybase home page at
http://www.sybase.com, clicking on the "Support" link at the top of
the page, and then choosing "Support Centers" from the left hand
frame.

You can always report a bug for free by visiting CaseXpress at
http://casexpress.sybase.com/cx/cx.stm. When submitting calls
through CaseXpress, please make sure to give an accurate description
of the steps you take to reproduce the bug, and include any
files that may be needed (database, source code) to reproduce the
problem.
