I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "silent mode", but you could try
"sybinit4ever" (a free tool which you can download from
http://www.euronet.nl/~syp_rob/si4evr.html). This allows you to create
a new ASE server using only an ASCII interface (so without having
X-Windows) or even do it non-interactively (using a response file).

Have a look at the SYBATCH utility.

There is a full description of it in the 'Installing Adaptive Server Enterprise
and OmniConnect on Windows NT" manuel.
It allows you to create a new Adaptive Server, Monitor Server and Backup Server
using a resource file.

Well, you can always use buildmaster (bldmastr.exe on NT) to create a
master device and do the rest through ISQL...
