What classes do I really need for a DB Applet

I've developped a DB Applet using PowerJ Java 1.1. I use Sybase ASA 6.0 as
Database Server. The manual is not very specific about which classes are
really needed. It just mentions that sybjdbc.zip includes the necessary
classes, but it seems that this file is part of JConnect 2.2 and not
JConnect 3.0. So I included JConnect30.zip which works, but is 551 kBytes
big. I assume that many things of this zip-file are not needed for
deployment. Which classes are really needed?

Your codebase should contain all of the jConnect classes. Applets
are not a lightweight solution and you might be better off considering
using a servlet or use some for of transaction server such as jaguar

Lance

Thank you for your answer. Perhaps I really have to consider an other
solution.

You might note that the ORB runtime in Jaguar is only 56K. Jaguar would handle
all the connection caching and transaction management, while giving you a
thinner client download.
