We have recently upgraded a site to ASA 8.0 both server and clients from
7.0.
The database is still on 7 but this hasn't been an issue on other sites.
(Apart from the warning that it would be worth rebuilding etc).
We have started to get a couple of spurious errors recently, the main one
being, data being mapped from 1 record to another when scrolling through
records. Another error has been "Specified driver could not be loaded due to
system error 1114 (Adaptive Server Anywhere 8.0).
Our application uses the BDE.

We have looked at the server logs, the network connectivity etc and am
struggling to find a resolution.

Does anybody have any ideas ?

Regards,

D.Newman

The Microsoft error that the ODBC driver manager is reporting is

1114 - A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.

Not much help! It could just be something as simple as you don't
have enough memory. It could be that some of the other DLLs
required are 'apparently' missing when this pops up (a current
directory and pathing issue).

Since it is spurious I don't believe it is installation or system
environment
problems unless you have duplicate dlls being loaded dynamically.
Look for db*.dll dlls.

There may also be BDE issue (under some circumstances).

But at this point, I have no reason to believe there is an ASA product
issue here outside of installation.
