When I uninstalled the first beta it deleted all the PB80.dlls in
Sybase\shared\PowerBuilder which made PB8 not work. I think the uninstaller
needs to be more aware about removing only it's DLLs.

Hi Larry,

This is noted in the Release Bulletin on page 3 as an Install Shield bug,
but is not noted in the Installation Guide and I also discovered it the hard
way :-)!!

I will bring it to the attention of the appropriate people that it should
maybe be included in the Guide or at least a warning to read the Release
Bulletin carefully prior to install/uninstall.

My 2 cents... Well, it maybe an Install Shield bug, but this is
something that I think we need to fix even if we are forced into some
workaround. There must be a way to flag those files to not be touched.
Even with the release note, it's a BIG side effect, and I don't know
that just calling it a "Install Shield" bug relinquishes us from doing
something a little more proactive. Put a message box in the uninstall
at the very least.

I agree that while it's not a big deal it forces the person to reinstall the
PB release, such as 8.0.3 which is what I did. Something like this will
alienate customers. Let's face it, one of the things that people complain
about is installations. I hope that this is fixed before this product is
released.

My .02 worth.

I, like many developers, do not always read the release bulletins,
especially with betas. Yes it should be read but many will not.

Yes I've suggested that many users RTFM on the forums so I'm a hippocrit,
but so be it. I think that I'm not the only one<G>.
Hopefully it will get fixed before GA.

Larry,

We have implemented a workaround in version 2.5.12.2 and newer to resolve
this issue. You will not experience this issue when you uninstall future
versions of Appeon.
