HI Syb Users,
I did remove sql server from NT 4.0. but net service name it's remained.
I'm going to reinstall sqlserver as another net service name.
What is the best way to remove it?

thanks in advance

Did you use the uninstaller, or did you just delete the binaries ?

In versions of ASE prior to 11.5 , the uninstaller did not properly
remove registry entries, and leaves the NT registry peppered with references
to the uninstalled ASE server.

To remove the reference to a non-existant server from the SERVICES applet in
the control panel, remove the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<SERVERNAME>

The service will not be present the next time you reboot.

If installing another ASE server on this machine, make certain that you use
a different SQL servername, as there will still be plenty of conflicting
references to the old server.

If you are using 11.5.1 or 11.9.2, Sybase's InstallShield installer will
take care of this for you.

BTW, I'm not fond of Sybase's new Java based installer on 12.0. If it isn't
broken, please don't fix it.
