How can I connect to a remote "Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise" running on
a certain NT-workstation? I want to make queries to a database, add tables
etc.

You'll have to be a little more specific, specifically ...

1) What version of ASE are you running? 11.5 introduced the concept of 'remote
SQL' (sp_remotesql) while 11.9 brought us 'passthru' SQL and 12.x is giving us
the ability to 'execute' dynamic SQL locally.

2) What are you connecting 'from'? A client/application? A stored proc running
inside another ASE server? something else? If you're connecting from a client
you just need to make sure the 'remote' server is defined in your interfaces
(sql.ini) file and then connect to it just like you do the 'local' server. If
you're coming from within a stored proc (or isql session, i.e., while 'inside'
an ASE server) then you have different options based on your answer to #1.

3) Could you give some examples of what it is you're looking to do? This could
help the forum members come up with (different) suggestions on how to go about
doing what you want.

Hi Markus,

Without any more information, I will suggest that you read-up in the manuals
on Component Integration Services and proxy tables. I think that is what you
are talking about. See Mark's comments also regarding more information.
