is there anyone had tried to detect if the sql server is running from
app? we are now developing app via delphi,a service must frequently to check
the server's status. we had tried to use connect db--but the app would crash
after some time past. Then we tried scan the tcp/port of the server ,but if
the server is down ,it take 45 seconds back!
we think about sybping.exe--whether the server up or not,it can feed back
immediatly,so is there an api function call we can use to get info just as
fast as the EXE does? any help are appreciate.
