I am working with a Sybase database Version 11.0.2.1 on NT 4.0, Service pack
1. The Network support for my project recently took the server and upgraded
it from a single Pentium II processor with 256 MB of memory to four Pentium
III XEON processors with 512 MB of memory. They also upgraded to a
multiprocessor kernel (?) but did not change service packs. Since then, we
have been experiencing problems with the server freezing up, not shutting
down from the Services console, not restarting, etc. I was wondering if
anyone has any idea of what might be going on. Thanks.

Hi Wallace,

The first thing I would recommend is going to a y2k compliant version. Minimum
of 11.0.3.2.

IMHO, it would be better to go to 11.9.2.x or 12.x as 11.0.x is end of lifed on
June 30, 2000 and 11.5.x is end of lifed on Dec 31st, 2000.

The 11.0.2.1 has many bugs especially with named caches.

Jason

Hi Wallace,

This is a known problem in 11.0.2.1. You need to get at least at 11.0.3.3 (11.0.3 +
EBF for 11.0.3.3)
