1. Making use of large I/O pools for recovery and not just the default pool
size.
2. Making use of Multiple Engines in SMP environment, currently a single
engine is used for recovery purposes, bring the sys database online, then
the engines and then start recovering the user databases - could not be that
difficult?

Engineering has an active project to parallelize recovery, currently
targeted
if all goes well for the (12.5.1/12.6 whatever it will be numbered)
version planned
for release this summer. CR 275865.
