Hi, we have migrated our apps to PB9 recently.

These apps connect to an application server (BEA WLS) to use some EJBs.

Everything is fine except that the extra memory used when the JavaVM
is created is more than 10Mb per application.

So if the user is running 3 applications, 30Mb is used by the 3 JavaVM.

Is there any way to minimize the memory requirement (ex. sharing jvm.dll)?

Before the migration, the PB7 apps were connecting to EAS and the memory
cost was very low.

Bye.

You can provide initialization parameters for the Java VM that PB
loads using entries in the registry under PBRTConfig. Check Chapter
39 of Application Techniques. You'd have to experiment a bit thought
with the JVM parameters to get something that works well for you. The
three applications are separate processes, so they can't share one JVM
(that what app servers are for!).

As for PB -> EAServer, the communication is via CORBA/IIOP, so a JVM
isn't require on the client side.
