What is the best/easiest way to get image data (long binary) from SQL
Anywhere to ASE 11.5? I have tried to use Powerbuilder pipeline object, but
when I move blob data, it Dr. Watson's on me every time (PB6). Then I tried
BCP, but the format of the unloaded data must not be right. Could really
use some pointers from someone who has gone from SQLA to ASE (both on NT, if
it matters)

Thanks,

I don't use SQLA so take this for what's it worth ...

Unless you're looking to set up Replication for (near) real time
transfer of data ... you're looking at 'bcp' or a bcp-like utility.

Using bcp with text/blob columns can get a little tricky in that you
have to come up with column and row terminators that are *unique*, i.e.,
not contained within the actual text/blob fields. Also, if you've got
text/blob columns that are larger than 32K, you'll want to look at using
the '-T' (??) flag else the bcp will truncate your text/blob column at
the 32K marker.

In determining column and row terminators ... come up with a possible
string and run a 'like' test against your raw data in your SQLA database
... keep doing this until you find some strings you can use? (NOTE:
Don't use the same string for column and row terminators!! <g>)
