Simple question.

I have 10 workstations around the office. We access one simple database via
ODBC. When I update the server, I put in the 46 meg of patches.

Do I have to go around and update every workstation? They do not use ISQL
or any tool from their desk - what advantage of updating every workstation
everytime --- it just seems like a lot of work.

This is using ISQL (SQL Anywhere using the DLL/Driver supplied by Clarion)

Thanks.

You don't mention what version you are using. Assuming version 8 take a look
at this section of the docs for the minimum file set required for ODBC:

Adaptive Server Anywhere Programming Guide
12. Deploying Databases and Applications
Deploying client applications

Deploying ODBC clients

By the way, while the patch is a single download, if you only have the
client installed, that is all that the patch should update. This should be
less than 46MB.

I should also point out that the newgroup
sybase.public.sqlanywhere.general is more highly focused on ASA and SQL
Anywhere and is a more effective place to ask questions specific to those
products.
