Hello,

This was bug 402029:

When performing a post error cleanup ASE may enter in the infinite loop
trying to allocate memory. Very long stack trace will show multiple
occurances of following sequence of calls :
{s_handle,s_cleanframe,s_copytmps,memcreate,ex_raise}

It has been fixed in ASE 12.5.4 ESD#1 and higher.

Regards,
Neal

Error 701, state 2 would seem to indicate that there isn't enough
procedure cache available to allocate the memory for the procedure
header. Obviously this error shouldn't generate a stack trace (you
should instead get an error in the client)...

You need to find the proc or SQL code that contains the statement
below, and you probably need to simplify it

or maybe try increasing the size of the procedure cache.

Michael

Not only did it generate a stack trace but also the ASE was shutdown!!!
