Hi,

I am having some speed issues with a table. It looks like I need to add an
index to optimize it. Unfortunately, The table has 1,000,000 rows which are
currently in the replication queue replicating. I can't make changes to the
table structure whilst it is doing this.

Is there any way to stop replication temporarily?

Regards

Mike

Just to add, I have tried pausing the subscription by right clicking on it
in ARC and selecting pause but is doesn't seem to have any effect. Replication
still processes records i.e. the table count is going down.

This is on version 10.10.0.18

Hi Mike,
What version of ARC are you using? We fixed a bug in ARC that caused the
pause button to not work. Perhaps it is ARC that is the problem.

You can see if the subscription is actually being paused by running this
query:

SELECT name, paused FROM system.subscriptions;

If the Pause button in ARC is unable to change the value in the above query
results, you can use this query instead:

EXECUTE PROCEDURE sp_ModifySubscriptionProperty( 'mySubscription', 'paused',
'true' );

Let me know what you find out. If the paused property is really TRUE and
replication is still running, then we might have a different issue to look
into.
