I am not sure what the correct terminology is, but we are all familiar
with drop-down lists automatically adjusting as we type. It would be
really nice if PB Classic DDDWs supported this natively.

At the very least, the dynamically filtered items in the list could
match the user's typing by values in the Display colum. It would be
even better if the developer could identify more DDDW dataobject
columns to use when filtering (useful when more than one column
displays in that drop-down dataobject).

It would be nice if "down arrow to hilight and tab to select hilited"
worked when using the dynamic list.

No doubt this can be implemented with PowerScript, but it seems a good
candidate for native PB support - especially as it will help
developers modernize the look of mature PB applications.

Hi EJ;

An excellent enhancement suggestion IMHO. I would like to suggest
that you add this to the PB enhancement queue ...

As a historical note....
In PocketBuilder we had outlined a couple enhancements like this for
our DataWindow.
I remember we figured out the automatic data lookup and filtering
as the user typed (all built into the DW control, no coding on your
side).
This was using a lot of internal tricks to because of performance
and memory constraints on the PocketPC.
We also wanted to tweak some of the notifications to take care of the
common use-cases we had seen.

However, we accomplished none of that before we were called
back home and we had to send PocketBuilder away (like a
kindly dog "now living on a farm with other dogs")....

Just a bit of history....
