Hi there,

Is there a way for me to automate my backup? I'm using Sybase ASE 11.5 and
sit on NT platform.

Your help will be very much appreciated.

Hi,
You could do this by using a combination of bat and sql-scripts and then
schedule with the at command.
For example:
--------
script: dbname_full_dump.bat

isql -Usa -Ppassword -SSERVERNAME -iD:\Sybadmin\Script\dbname\dbname_full_du
mp.sql -oD:\Sybadmin\Log\dbname\dbname_full_dump.log
--------
together with
--------
script: dbname_full_dump.sql

dump database patricia to "D:\Sybadmin\Dump\dbname\dbname_full_dump"
go
--------
using the file structure:

D:\sybadmin

\dump\dbname
...
\log\dbname
...
\script\dbname
...

schedule the bat-file with win-at GUI or with at-command
the same method can be used for producing transaction dumps.
