I am using ASA 8.0.1.3112 Desktop Runtime Edition with ASA
OLE DB Provider. My application makes use of the connection
classes transaction methods:

BeginTrans();
CommitTrans();
RollbackTrans();

All works perfect with the personal engine but the runtime engine
causes an exception (80004005) on using the above mentioned
methods.

I am aware that the Desktop Runtime Edition has some restrictions but
I understand that transactions should work.

Is there possibly a (known) problem with the OLE DB provider?

Regards,

Peter

There certainly have been a number of fixes to the OLEDB provider, however
the Runtime engine does not get EBF's. You may want to review the readme's
for the 8.0.1 EBFs and the 8.0.2 patch and EBFs to see if this issue gets
mentioned as being fixed.

Robert

Thank you for your reply. I upgraded/patched to 8.0.2.4251. Unfortunately
the problem with the desktop runtime engine (rteng8.exe) still remains.
Nevertheless the application works perfect with the personal engine
(dbeng8.exe).

Regards,

Peter
