The physical size limit is measured in terabytes and is dependent on the
file system. In more practical terms I currently know of customers in the
60 -100 GB range.

A transaction is a very fuzzy unit in terms of workload. For example a
transaction could be a single insert into a table that only has 2 integer
columns, or it could be multiple operations on multiple wide tables,
requiring several joins at each step. With that disclaimer we have done
benchmark testing with customers in which the number of concurrent users was
over a thousand and each user had 2 connections to the database.

If you could provide some more details about your particular app, then
we will be able to provide some more specific feedback.
