I found the demo of job scheduling on sybase to be quite
interesting ,after googling .

But, I cannot find any location where I can download the plugin/tool
for updating the Sybase Central to schedule jobs.

Please refer the link and how do i install it on Windows platform.

I reckon "memory issues" will still occur even after scheduling job on
sybase.

Regards..

I don't know the first version of the ASE Plugin that supports the Job
Scheduler but I can inquire. You can get your version by doing:

You could try registering this the most recent plugin that you find in
you %sybase% or $SYBASE dir.

C:\sybase\ase15x\ASEP\lib>java -jar ASEPlugin.jar -v
Sybase Central Adaptive Server Enterprise Plug-in Utility
Version: 15.0.2
Build option: EBF 15958 ESD#6
Build date: Thu Oct 2 04:56:34 PDT 2008

If it were me I would just get the pcclient cd from a very recent ASE
distribution and install it.

@Jay: As far as the console commands go, I tried all the commands for
scheduling a job using the manual but they fail horribly giving error
messages.

As for purchasing a cd, I am pak, I dont think my country is so
technically advanced that I can get a pirate copy from the shops for a
db like sybase.

I found ASE 12.5.1 beta capable of scheduling jobs but it is not
available for download, to date.

I would really appreciate if u send me some link to download it/
rapishare / torrents.

Regards..

I think there are serveral issues here:

(1) you would like a job scheduler plugin for your version of Sybase
Central.

- normally I would just recommend that you the Sybase Central
from a much later version of ASE or product distribution as it is most
certain to be updated to have the Job Scheduler plugin functionality.
I am checking on this (people owe me a reply so I push again).

(2) You are trying the manual commands but everything fails so far. I
am not familiar with the Job Scheduler. But I would recommend that you
start a separate thread on this. Give the release of ASE/platform,
brief steps and first error/symptom to get help on the specific topic.

(3) I really can't send you anything. If you give me/others a good
idea of what you are looking for then we can comment.

I would try to get things working manually and then pursue the SC way
of doing it. But this is my personal recommendation based on the fact
that you don't have a plugin now and you need/want to get it working.
