Hello
PB10 build 4510. I want my program to evaluate the AcceptText()
(whether it is a 1 or -1) (for a dw control) without the message
coming up (when it is a -1). I have the AcceptText() in the clicked
event of the button. I want to be able to programmatically evaluate
it and make an adjustment in the dw control (if it is -1). I tried an
if then but the message comes up at the if statement (when it is -1).

thanks for any ideas
Tony

Take a look at the ItemError event.
My practice is to create an instance boolean ib_suppress_error, which I set
TRUE when I don't want to see the error. Then in the ItemError event
IF ib_suppress_error THEN
ib_suppress_error = FALSE
Return 1
END IF
With a little thought, you can build this into the ancestor DW.

Goodmorning;
Thanks for the info: it worked. In the clicked event of the insert
button I set the boolean var = TRUE right before the dw.accepttext().
Then in the item error event I placed the IF THEN statement you
provided me and it worked. Thanks a million!
Sincerely
Tony
