I 'm a new sybase user...

We have a field varchar(255), but now we need more than 255 characters

I would like to keep character field and not use text type. Is it possible?

What is the best way to convert a field type to an other type ?

Merci

You can break the text into multiple records of varchar(255). This means
that you have to add a sequence number as part of your primary key.
