1. C represents 7e-005 as a double to Sybase,
2. Stored procedures accepts this number through a parameter with numeric (20,10),(decimal(20,10),
or float all are give the same output)
3. The field in the table has decimal(20,10) datatype and reads  6.9999e-005

Is there any way to avoid that?

1) Do you end up with 6.9999e-005 in the table when you use numeric or
decimal in your proc? I could understand this problem if you were using
'float'.

2) How do you know that the stored proc is receiving the data as 7e-005
when you use numeric/decimal? I'm wondering if there could be a problem
somewhere between your C program and Sybase which is converting this
value to a float ... hence the question about confirmation that the proc
*IS REALLY* seeing 7e-005 and not 6.9999e-005.
