Hi all,

Weird thing happens with one of our customers.

ADS 7.1 and our application is running on Windows 2003 server, and
works just fine since several months.

But now, they need to add a new network card into the server for a new
subnet to use our app too.

Problem is, whenever they try to activate the new network card, ADS
stops running... if we try to launch the Advantage configuration
Utility, it pops-up the box asking to register or to transfer
licence...

Any idea why ???

can this be because the server once crashed and was re-registered using
e-mail and site code (maybe they use the node address of the nic to
create the site code) ???

thanks if you can help. :D

Ernesto

I suspect you are using the International version without a dongle.
The International version of ADS uses a hardware generated site code.
If you change any of the hardware components on your server, the site code
becomes invalid.
You should just contact your distributor and ask for a new Activation code.
He will need the Serial Number, Validation Code and the new Site Code

This is a common problem, and one that I have asked Extended to look at, at
least to provide a 6 days buffer when hardware changes to give us time to
re-register without down time. Almost every Monday we get a call from one
client or another that has done some hardware maintenance over the weekend
and ADS is not functioning
