Hi, all.
I have an application in many clients, some with ADS 5, 6 and 7. Some
clients wants to move to ADS 8,
and I'm wondering which rdd version must I use.
I think that I must use rdd version 5, so all the servers from 5 to 8 will
work, right??
With this, do i miss any performance with newer servers?? I have specially
a client that now has ADS 7,
and he note a significant speed lost in performance than when he have ads
5 and 6.
Or must i have a different compiled application for each ads version??

thanks

right

possibly, but I don't think this effects clipper much.

that sounds strange! Performance got better with 7. So you must either
use something special or your customer uses a buggy version or has
other issues in the network. What has changed from Version 6 to 7 is
the size of the packets. This might cause poor performance in some
networks. But I doubt this will affect older Clipper apps, since
they're communication via IPX, not IP.

no
