How well accepted is DataWindow.Net so far? Do you see it primarily as an
upgrade path for PowerBuilder users? I am looking at it as a new product
(no PB code base) in comparison with things like Infragistics and
Component One grids/data access. Is there enough of a user base to support
the product moving forward?

Is there an announced release schedule for upcoming version that I have
seen mentioned in this group?

I don't see "a lost " user of PB coming back unless there is enough effort
from Sybase building confidence in the lost users by serious marketing.
Sybase should think of $ ROI for this product in the future & spend more
marketing visits to its product destinations.
Let it just send its people to its old customers (both its own &
distributors)

It is a relatively new product and we are just getting rolling with
marketing activities. I don't have any figures on the adoption rate
but I know some people are waiting for the webforms support coming in
DataWindow .NET 1.5.

I think it is a tool that any .NET developer will want to use.
Certainly former PB customers who recognize the benefits of the
DataWindow are early adopters. I have been spending a lot of time at
.NET trade shows (Germany - BASTA, US - Tech-Ed, Visual Connections,
UK - VBUG, Denmark - .NET User Group, Netherlands - Tech-Ed Europe,
Ziff Davis Webinar) demonstrating DataWindow .NET to a lot of
developers who haven't heard of PowerBuilder or the DataWindow. They
are all really impressed by it.

DataWindow .NET 1.5 - Beta (11/29/04) - GA (Q1 2005)
DataWindow .NET 2.0 - GA (2H 2005)
