I am running System 11 (11.0.2) on NT4.0 on a standard Ethernet network (the
server has a 10/100 card). I've been trying to increase the Sybase packet size to
1024 bytes without success. I've set the 'default packet size', 'max packet size'
and 'additional network memory' and restarted the server, but if look at my
sessions they still use the standard 512 packet size. Is there something obvious
I am missing??

Your 'client' is going to have to set the network packet size when it
connects.

With 'bcp' and 'isql' this is as simple as using the '-A' (UNIX) command
line option.

If you're using DB/CT-LIB, ODBC, etc., then there should be a setting on
your dbproc connection string. Same goes for PB, VB, and anything else
that creates it's own native connection to Sybase.

Try starting up an isql connection with '-A1024' ... then see what
packet size you're using (in sysprocesses).
