We used ASA 7.0.3 on PDA. Today we try to remove large amount row from ASA
DB.
But we found the DB's file size increase from 26M to 41M, and LOG's file
size increase from 192K to 5M. What's the reason for the file size
increasement?

I must copy the DB's and LOG's file to PC from PDA. then use "rebuild "
command to reorganize.
But I don't think that's a good ideal to copy every PDA's file to PC, then
"rebuild".

Could I use any command to avoid increase file size from delete row?

Thanks.

Tse

When you delete rows, the database must keep a copy of the database pages
which contain the rows in case the operation has to be rolled back. To
decrease the amount of growth in the database file during deletes, execute
commit statements more frequently.

The log file is a record of all actions executed against the database, so it
will always grow. You can use various backup methods to manage this. I
would suggest reading the chapter on backup and recovery to undertand better
how the log file works and to decide on how you want to manage it.
