Is it possible to connect to a local db using:
dbisql -c "uid=dba;pwd=sql;dbf=C:\temp\mydb.db" read updateList.sql
while there's a server on the same machine started with dbsrv7.exe named
TestEngine?
The message is : Request to start/stop database denied. Which means that I
have to stop the server, execute the updateList.sql script on my local
database, and then start the service again. Too cruel, isn't it?
Is there a way to execute sql script without stopping the server?

If by local db you mean dbeng7, then add an ENG connection parameter that is
UNIQUE. For example,

dbisql -c "uid=dba;pwd=sql;dbf=C:\temp\mydb.db;eng=MyDB"

Otherwsie, the connection information is attempting to start the db file on
TestEngine.
/ck

You need to add "-gd all" to the server command line to permit
starting/stopping databases.

Whitepapers, TechDocs, bug fixes are all available through the iAnywhere
Developer Community at http://www.ianywhere.com/developer
