I am surprised that there are so many pb experts want to find job here , but
none to find employee .

I am working at China, but I have transfered to java 2 years ago, because
now few people are using powerbuilder...

woes.

You're entitled to draw your own conclusions, but to me drawing this
conclusion from the newsgroups is like finding no posters for PB jobs
on a given street corner and drawing the same conclusion. Even at PB's
peak, the newsgroups were not a popular place for recruitment. Most
employers I've dealt with are looking for people locally, so a global
advertising medium is undesirable (more unqualified resumes = more
work).

Of course, if you're looking for a justification for your pre-existing
woes....

Good luck,

Terry [TeamSybase] and Sequel the techno-kitten

Probably but at least he has a job! Checking craigslist, there are
far more Java jobs than PB.

> far more Java jobs than PB...

because it takes sooooo much more time to get anything done in Java!
Right now, I'm working on 2 Java contracts and 1 PB contract, and I really
wish PB was the buzzword again. On the bright side, there's way more
billable hours per task in Java! I'm estimating I spend about 10-15 times
the effort on a servlet or jsp+bean than I would for the same thing as a
client/server PB app. And that's only for the things you *can* emulate in
the sucky browser interface.
